Childhood Friends Memories made of yesteryear seem so long ago Childhood friends, just you and I each day we came to know. A comfort found within the heart of comradeship and friends, We shared the good times and the bad we thought would never end. Each moment spent in company when we'd go out to play The mischief made by our own hands sent everyone affray! Hiding so no one could see we'd snicker with delight, Despite the thrashing we may get when caught out in our plight. But mostly we'd just sit around and watch the world go by Finding comfort by the lake and reaching for the sky. Such peacefulness we found here as the day came to an end Knowing that as the years went by we would always remain friends. Looking back over the years how quick they seemed to pass Growing from our childhoods to adulthood way too fast! Sometimes I wish we could turn the clock back to those carefree years When you and I could lose ourselves in the friendship we found here. Childhood innocence never lasts for one day we must grow To learn responsibility in life's ever-gushing flow; Growing through maturity and life's experience A wisdom that we come to know replaces our innocence. But through it all life goes on though the years may separate The childhood that we used to share could never dissipate. A comradeship that was born when we came to depend On all the things that we had shared together as childhood friends. ~ Angel Reflections ~ An Old Friend is a Treasure An Old friend Is that tried And true treasure For the memories And all the love they share The comfort that they can give Because they'll truly understand Who you are and love you regardless Old friends are a gift of life we all need Times they held your hand through good and the bad Listening to all your rants and your raves Wonderful times shared together Just because you are a friend They accept you as such You may not see them As much as you Wish but are Always There So When you Think of that Old friend of yours That you haven't seen In months or even years Think of them fondly and pause Give them a quick call and if not Speak a silent prayer for the present That they are in your life and bless their heart ~ Angel of Sweet Blessings ~ Old Friends I have a group of old friends Special and dear to me, I often spend some time with them They live in my memory. I have an old and comfy chair That gives me strength and rest, This friend brings me comfort When I’ve been put to the test. Comfortable shoes to slip on, At the end of a busy day, It always feels so very good When these friends come my way. A gentle piece of music That stirs my soul to sing, What better cheer and comfort Could this special friend bring? A book with yellowing pages Much loved and well read, Often picked up and perused When I get into bed. A box of crumpled photographs, Love letters tied with blue. Hours to spend with these friends ~ They remind me of you. A friendship box now quite full Of treasures from the years, These are Old Friends of mine Bringing comfort to my years. ~ Angel of Avalon ~ Reflections Hello again old friend, Are you the old friend that time forgot? Has friendship dwindled to an almost non-existing thing? It's so good to hear from you my friend, So much time has passed us by, and so many things to be shared between us. It does my heart good dear friend, To know that you still care, enough to write a letter, or just a simple call. We've missed so much, you and I. Can you imagine what has passed us by? What has there been in your life, since last and long ago, we have spoken? My dear friend, why have we parted? And for such a long time! Did I not love you enough that you could recognize it as such? Was there so many things of priority that loving me in return was overlooked? We did have many good times. The things that make lasting memories. Yet our friendship was not strong enough to withstand the test of time. I am thrilled to hear from you once again my friend! Where does your life take you from here? I am so sorry if I have offended you in some way. If I sound selfish in my thoughts of our friendship, I am sorry for that too. But I have missed you so, And I have carried an unspoken guilt, that I have caused you to vanish any thoughts or memories of our past together. Please share with me now, whatever it may be. Hopefully we have not lost all reasoning between us.
